About Me

I believe massage is a simple yet profound way to do good in the world and is a powerful tool in helping people feel better. Each session is individualized with blended techniques including deep tissue, Swedish relaxation, visceral manipulation, Thai yoga stretches, craniosacral, trigger point, and burn scar massage. I have also trained in clinical aromatherapy and use essential oils in the room and in personalized topical blends. I am a licensed massage therapist with the Virginia board of nursing and am nationally Board Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.

Since graduating from NVCC’s massage therapy program in 2010, I have been working with a variety of clients, from injury recovery to ‘regular’ relaxation. Massage is unique among healing therapies in its focus on parasympathetic stimulation - the relaxation response. For nearly every condition (including 'healthy'!) there is associated soft tissue tension. Massage does not treat, fix, or cure any underlying problem but the relief of the associated tension can almost always make you feel better.

I have experience working with people with the following conditions: addiction recovery, generalized anxiety, arthritis, bipolar disorder, cancer, headaches, loss of limb (amputations), PTSD, stroke, TBI, burn survivors, and more.

During the recent COVID pandemic I closed my massage practice and went back to school. I completed an Associate Degree of Applied Science and am now also a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant.
